Authorities have made an arrest in connection with Tuesday’s double stabbing that left a man dead and a woman injured.

According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, Joshua Gonzalez, age 24, of Hoboken, was taken into custody yesterday by members of the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force in the area of Franklin Street in Bloomfield.

The case arose at  6:42 a.m. Tuesday when police responded to a report of an aggravated assault at 196 Clinton Avenue. When they arrived, they found a 22-year-old woman with a serious stab wound. The woman was taken by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center where she remains in stable condition.

At approximately 10 a.m. that morning, police received a report of an injured person at 186 McAdoo Avenue. Responding officers found the lifeless body of a man – later identified as Jason Khusial, 21, of Jersey City – with multiple apparent stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:14 a.m.

The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled Khusial’s death a homicide and determined that Khusial died from multiple sharp force wounds to the torso.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit has charged Gonzalez with Murder; Attempted Murder; Felony Murder; Burglary; Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; Possession of a Weapon; Resisting Arrest; and Violation of a Restraining Order.

Following his arrest, Gonzalez was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny pending his First Appearance.
