The Ravi Bhalla for Congress campaign today announced the endorsement of Jersey City Ward E Councilman James Solomon.

As mayor, he has made historic investments in climate resiliency programs and delivered on ambitious street safety measures,” said Councilman Solomon. “He’s running for Congress on a progressive agenda to serve Jersey City, Hoboken, and the rest of NJ-8. In taking on the county line and political machine, Ravi is paving the way for more independent and qualified candidates to run for elected office throughout New Jersey – and that commitment to a free and fair democracy for all makes his voice that much more needed in Washington.”

Solomon’s endorsement comes as no surprise. Last month, Solomon hosted a campaign style event in Jersey City for both Bhalla and Andy Kim, who is running to replace Sen. Robert Menendez.
Ravi Bhalla is challenging Representative Rob Menendez Jr. in the June 4th Democratic Primary. Despite his father’s legal travails, Menendez has wrapped up endorsements from many Democratic leaders and labor unions.
