Victim Identified in Last Night’s Fatal Shooting in Greenville

Authorities have identified the victim in last night’s fatal shooting in Greenville.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office has identified the victim as Juan Rodriguez, 49, of Jersey City. According to the HCPO, police were called to the area 1922 Kennedy Boulevard at approximately 8:30 p.m. last night after receiving  a 911 call reporting shots fired. Responding officers found Rodriguez with apparent gunshot wounds to his upper body.

Rodriguez was taken by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at approximately 8:55 p.m. The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. 

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this case. No arrests have been made at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor at 201-915-1345 or to leave an anonymous tip here. All information will be kept confidential.
