Two Jersey City men have been arrested and charged with weapons and drug crimes following a months-long investigation carried out by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force and the Hoboken Police Department.

According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, Darrell Love, 25, and Chad Robertson, 41, both of Jersey City, are each charged with Possession of a Weapon While Committing a CDS Offense; Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (firearm); Possession (heroin/fentanyl); Possession with the Intent to Distribute (heroin/fentanyl); Possession with the Intent to Distribute (heroin/fentanyl) within 1,000 Feet of a School; Possession with the Intent to Distribute (heroin/fentanyl) within 500 Feet of Public Property; and Conspiracy to Distribute (heroin/fentanyl).  

Love and Robertson were arrested yesterday by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force and the Hoboken Police Department, along with four other individuals. Authorities simultaneously executed multiple court-authorized search warrants in Hoboken, Jersey City, Elizabeth and Montclair. 

Seven handguns, two of which were reported stolen, over 17 kilograms of suspected heroin/fentanyl, over 2.5 kilograms of cocaine, and various illegal narcotics, including Xanax and marijuana, with a street value in excess of $15 million, were recovered. Additionally, over $20,000 in suspected proceeds from narcotics transactions was seized. 

Weapons seized included defaced weapons and large capacity magazines.

Also arrested and charged in the operation were Darryl Mobley, 37, and Erica Rivera-Mobley, 41, both of Montclair; Marquis High, 34, of Hoboken; and Anthony Crawford, 38, of Elizabeth.

The Essex County Tactical Response Team, Union County SWAT, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Crime Scene Unit, the Montclair Police Department, the Elizabeth Police Department, the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit, and the Essex County K9 Unit assisted in the arrests.
