Three Jersey City men have been charged in a fatal shooting that left one man dead and four others wounded.

According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, the three men — Lamont Wiggins, 25, Sheldon Mays, 23, and Jermaine Jennings, 22 — were indicted by a grand jury in connection with the shooting of five men on June 20, 2020, including the fatal shooting of Scott Colclough.
That day, at approximately 12:20 a.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Union Street between Martin Luther King Drive and Ocean Avenue in Jersey City. Upon arrival, responding officers found multiple shooting victims.
One of the men, later identified as Scott Colclough, age 34, of Jersey City, was found with multiple gunshot wounds. Colclough was taken by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the shooting a homicide and the cause of death “gunshot wounds.”
Four other men were found in the area with various gunshot wounds. They were all taken by EMS to Jersey City Medical Center where they received treatment for their injuries.
The three men are all charged with Murder; Conspiracy to Commit Murder; four counts of Attempted Murder; four counts of Aggravated Assault; Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (handgun); and Possession of a Weapon (firearm).

All three face additional charges for criminal activity between May 2020 and August 2020. Wiggins is charged with Gang Criminality; and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (handgun). Mays is charged with Gang Criminality; and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (handgun). Jennings is charged with Possession of a Weapon (Community Gun) for an Unlawful Purpose; Gang Criminality; Use of a Juvenile in the Theft of an Automobile; Corruption of Public Resources; and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (handgun).
Wiggins and Mays are currently in custody at the Hudson County Correctional Facility on unrelated charges. Jennings is currently in custody at McKean Federal Correctional Institute in Pennsylvania on unrelated charges.
