This weekend, Jersey City has something for everyone. There’s the Golden Door International Film Festival, the Light Up the Loop bike ride, and the Riverside Church Community Carnival. Plus, there’s live music, dance, and more. 

Light Up the Loop

“Join us for a night of fun, music, and excitement as we Light Up the Loop. Don’t forget to decorate your bikes with dazzling bike lights. This is a one-of-a-kind event that you won’t want to miss!” This bike loop starting and ending in Jersey City is approximately 17.5 miles total. 

Golden Door International Film Festival

This weekend is Jersey City’s Golden Door International Film Festival, an “event to celebrate the magic of film.” Showings on Friday and Saturday will take place at Art House Productions and Nimbus Arts Center, and there will be a Friday Night Red Carpet Event and a Closing Night Awards Gala. 

2nd Annual St. Paul’s Feast

“For the second year in a row the St. Paul’s community on Greenville Avenue has organized a street festival to include live music, various ethnic food vendors, rides, games, and a beer garden.” This event will financially support the ongoing exterior masonry work for the preservation of the church’s historic 1887 Neo-gothic building. 

Walk/Run For Peace 5K

“Join us as we gather together as a community to bring awareness and raise funds for children living in high conflict areas and who are experiencing the devasting impacts of war.” This certified 5K course is open to walkers, runners, and bikers and will have views of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline.

Liberty State Park Trailblazers Volunteer Day

“Join the LSP Trailblazers to help improve our trails by removing invasive weeds and vines from the Richard J. Sullivan Natural Area and performing trail maintenance.” Attendees must register in advance. This event is not recommended for children under 10 years of age. 

Riverside Church Community Carnival

“We invite you to join us for our Annual Community Carnival! This is a free event hosted by Riverside Church. We will have games, inflatables obstacle courses, sand art, faceprint, prizes, and more!”

Workshop of West African Dance and Music

Strength Through Visibility – 20 Years of Pride in Jersey City

Join JC Pride for the Jersey City debut of the award-winning documentary “Strength Through Visibility: 20 Years of Pride in Jersey City,” followed by an After Party at Six26. “This documentary chronicles Jersey City Pride’s history, it also provides a roadmap for people around the world who want to start Pride events in areas with little to no support.”

Look At My Records! at Sip Studios

“Come on out to Sip Studios in the Journal Square section of Jersey City for a night of indie rock. Lue Beige, San Tropez, and Slang Terms will be performing. Tom will be spinning tunes!”

Ross Newhouse at Fox & Crow

“Ross Newhouse is a folk musician who experiments with electronic and lo-fi influences. A skilled lyricist and storyteller, Ross finds ways to be both specific and universal.”

NYRR Open Run at Lincoln Park

NYRR Open Run “Brings free, weekly community-led runs to neighborhood parks across the greater New York City area. The program is free and open to runners and walkers of all ages, abilities, and experience levels.” Their weekly Jersey City runs are in Lincoln Park.  

Jersey City LGBT Pride Festival and Six26 present: WE RISE

Celebrate NYC Pride with the Jersey City LGBTQ+ Pride Festival at the WE RISE party at Six26. “There will be drink specials, dancers, drag performers, and more.” Attendees must be 21 years of age or older.

Second Annual Salsa at Grundy Park Pier

“Get ready to move to the beats of our sensational #livemusic and show off your moves!” There will be dance instructors with lessons for attendees of all ages and levels.
