This weekend, Jersey City is packed with events for everyone to enjoy. Mana Contemporary will be hosting their Sneaker Ball VIP Event on Friday, and then Sunday will be their Open Studios day. Plus, there’s the JCFamilies’ School, Summer Camp & Daycare Fair, the FLOURIISH art experience at 902 Brewing Co., Corgi Comedy Club, and more. 

Crescendo: 2023 NJCU BFA Exhibition Artist Talks

Visit the NJCU Visual Arts Gallery this Friday afternoon for a series of artist talks at the BFA exhibition. This event will be partially broadcast on Instagram Live on the @njcugalleries account. 

Sneaker Ball VIP Event at Mana Contemporary

“The Mana Contemporary and Obsessive Sneaker Disorder present this exclusive experience that celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop culture. A curated collection of sneakers that represent the inseparable connection between Sneaker culture and Hip-Hop, will be on display.” This special event will have live DJs, dancing, and a raffle.

Corgi Comedy Club

Local comedians Ryan Rummel and Alex Grubard present Corgi Comedy Club at Corgi Spirits. “Each month features stand-up comedians from your favorite movies, television shows, podcasts and festivals. Enjoy a unique nightlife experience in a charming, intimate atmosphere that can only be provided at Corgi Spirits.” 

Art in Nature: Field Observations at Liberty State Park

“Join artist Eileen Ferara for an urban nature walk to Caven Point beach for observations on nature, its influence on her work, and her art process. Small field journals and pencils will be provided to make your own observations.” This event is not recommended for children under five years of age. Attendees must register in advance. 

Spring Community Clean Up Day

The Village Neighborhood Association, Hamilton Park Neighborhood Association, and the Office of Councilman Solomon are hosting this community cleanup event on Saturday. Supplies will be provided for attendees. 

JCFamilies’ School, Summer Camp & Daycare Fair

This Saturday at City Hall Plaza, JCFamilies will be hosting their annual School Summer Camp Fair, featuring “over 42 camps, schools, and daycares, and the early Childhood Department will be there to answer your questions regarding PreK programs.” There will also be entertainment for children, like a magic show, bubbles, and dance. 

The Embankment at JCFPL Five Corners Branch

The Embankment Preservation Coaltion will be hosting a presentation and discussion centered on The Embankment, “a massive stone rail structure on 6th Street in Downtown Jersey City…. Nature moved in as the trains moved out, creating meadows and forest. Residents founded the Embankment Coalition to preserve the site for open space, trail, and possible future light rail.”

FLOURIISH at 902 Brewing Co.

Head to 902 Brewing Co. this Saturday for this special event featuring “19 artists, live performances, food trucks, DJs and much more!”

Mana Contemporary Open Studios

Mana Contemporary’s Spring Open House event will be a special opportunity to meet artists and curators, see new exhibitions, hear musical performances, and take advantage of food and drink specials. 

White Eagle Hall Presents Shayfer James

Shayfer James will be performing at White Eagle Hall this Sunday evening. The singer-songwriter “weaves lyrically eloquent dark-pop songs from gothic landscapes that evoke the narcotic mysticism of a Lewis Carroll-inspired three-ring circus.”
