This weekend, JC Fridays is back with free events happening across Jersey City. It’s also the start of Women’s History Month, and there are a few different ways to celebrate. Plus, there’s comedy, a brewery bus trip, and more.

JC Fridays, the “free arts festival across Jersey City, NJ presented by Art House Productions” is back this Friday with a lineup of great events. 

The Laugh Tour Comedy Club at Dorrian’s JC

This weekend, The Laugh Tour Comedy Club continues its weekly run of standup comedy shows at Dorian’s JC

“Right in the Eye” Live Movie Concert

This multimedia experience at New Jersey City University “features a trio of virtuoso musicians performing live as Méliès films are projected — almost like a show within a show as these artists conjure music from an extraordinary array of instruments.”

“Danielle Scott: Kinfolk” at The NJCU Lemmerman Gallery

This Friday is the last day to catch the “Danielle Scott: Kinfolk” exhibition at The NJCU Lemmerman Gallery. “This exhibition presents the artist Danielle Scott’s dedication to social commentary and ancestral storytelling. The artist spent over a year visiting plantations in the United States sourcing materials and historical documentation in order to connect to these stories and visualize them in these works.”

The Nicole Glover Quartet at The Statuary

This Friday night, “one of the fastest rising stars in jazz, tenor saxophonist Nicole Glover and her quartet” will be performing at The Statuary.

This JC Fridays event will be a combination of an open mic and a local art show. “Network/meet local artists, buy art, share your talents!” 

Jersey City Brew Club Brewery Bus Trip

Join the Jersey City Brew Club this Saturday for this special brewery/winery bus tour that will have three different stops. Note that this event will leave Jersey City and return at the end of the day. 

“The Rebellious Life of Mrs. Rosa Parks” at JCFPL

“The Rebellious Life of Mrs. Rosa Parks” is a film depicting the “unexpected story of Parks and her life beyond the historic bus boycott, revealing the intent behind her activism, her radical politics and her courage.” There will be a discussion with Yoruba Richen, one of the film’s directors, after a screening.
