It’s Thanksgiving, which means that the holiday season is officially here. Monique’s Techniques and the Mo’Hair Foundation will be hosting their Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner, and we have a short list of restaurants that are open for the holiday. There’s also an Afro Puerto Rican culture and music event hosted by Segunda Quimbamba Folkloric Center, a beach walk at Liberty State Park, and more. 

 

25th Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner

 

Monique’s Techniques and the Mo’Hair Foundation, with support from Mayor Fulop and the Jersey City Municipal Council, will be serving a Thanksgiving meal to the community. Attendees must wear masks and observe social distancing. Meals will be takeaway.

Heart BEATS 4 Puerto Rico, Festejando con Segunda Quimbamba

 

Segunda Quimbamba Folkloric Center hosts this Afro Puerto Rican immersion experience, featuring music, dance, food, and vendors. Attendees must show proof of full Covid-19 vaccination or a negative COVID test no older than three days. Masks will also be required when attendees are not eating or drinking.

Hudson Hound JC will be open for Thanksgiving, and serving a prix fixe menu that has butternut squash risotto, roast organic turkey, honey baked ham, fried Brussels sprouts, and, of course, pumpkin pie.

The Five Corners Branch of the Jersey City Free Public Library will be hosting a special storytime in honor of National Adoption Month. This event “aims to highlight the journey of adoption and recognize the value of all types of families.”
