Two men were arrested and drugs and a handgun seized during the execution of a search warrant near a school on the West Side.

According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, on October 19 authorities recovered a handgun, two high capacity magazines, more than 170 grams of cocaine with a street value of over $7,000, more than four pounds of marijuana with a street value of over $8,000, various prescription drugs, drug paraphernalia, and over $20,000 cash upon executing the warrant at an apartment at 159 Mallory Avenue.

The raid was conducted by HCPO’s Narcotics Task Force and the Hudson County Regional SWAT Team.

Talha Khan, 27, of Jersey City, and Hameem Khan, 21, of Rosendale, New York, have been charged with 26 separate crimes involving the the gun, the magazines, drug paraphernalia and the drugs, which included cocaine, heroin, marijuana, Vyvanse, Xanax, and Endocet. The men were also charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute drugs Within 1,000 Feet of a School.

Dr. Paul Rafalides, School 33 is located approximately one block away on Union Street.
