This morning Emergency Medical Services were attending to a man reportedly shot by a Bayonne police officer.
According to radio reports, at approximately 7 a.m. the wounded man apparently made his way from Bayonne to Linden Avenue and Scott Street in Greenville.
The man, who was reportedly shot in the face, was taken to Jersey City Medical Center “conscious, alert and breathing.”
Hudson County View reported that a Burger King at the intersection of West 53rd Street and Broadway had been closed off and that the Bayonne Office of Emergency Management announced that the area would be closed due to police activity. The area is approximately five blocks south of the Jersey City border.
Officers at the scene in Jersey City were told “make sure you have your body cameras on.”
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, which was called to the scene, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
This shooting would mark the second time in a week that an outside law enforcement agency was involved in a shooting touching Jersey City. Last Friday a man was shot and killed in Jersey City in a confrontation with U.S. Marshals.
