A Jersey City police officer has been arrested after allowing a wanted man to stay in her home.

According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, Police Officer Page Rivera, 34, was arrested today at the prosecutor’s office by the Internal Affairs Unit.

Rivera stands accused of hindering the apprehension of a man wanted for Attempted Murder and various weapons offenses in connection with a shooting that occurred in Jersey City on Friday, February 10, 2022.

Members of the Jersey City Police Department’s Cease Fire Unit and the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested the man on February 17 and later determined that he had been arrested at Rivera’s residence.

Prosecutors allege that Rivera, through her employment at the Jersey City Police Department, was aware that an arrest warrant for the man she was harboring in her residence had been issued.

Rivera has been charged with one count of Hindering.

Rivera was released pending her first court appearance on March 15.
