A person was struck by gunfire today in Bergen-Lafayette.
According to the report, the shooting occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Virginia Ave. and Martin Luther King Drive.
The injuries were said to be non-life-threatening.
The shooting continues a surge in gun violence both locally and in cities across the country.
The extent of any increase in crime in Jersey City is unknown.
