A 22-year-old Newark man has been arrested in connection with a fatal November 1 shooting in Marion.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, members of the United States Marshals Service of New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Roger Pickett Jr. today at his home on Evergreen Avenue in Newark and charged him in the murder of 23-year-old Jovahn Horne of Tenafly.
Horne was gunned down at approximately 9 p.m on November 1 in the area of 74 Dales Avenue in the Marion section. When they arrived at the scene, police found Horne with an apparent gunshot wound to the abdomen.
He was taken by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Pickett is charged with Murder; Murder During the Commission of a Robbery; Inflicting Bodily Injury while Committing a Robbery; Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and Unlawful Possession of Weapon.
Pickett was taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.
