Natasha Arbelo, 36, of Jersey City passed away from cancer on July 6.
Natasha was born January 17, 1987, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Hoboken. She spent her childhood between Puerto Rico and Union City. Natasha attended County Prep High School and studied journalism at New Jersey City University.
Natasha worked as a professional makeup artist for many years before switching to healthcare in 2019. She was diagnosed with Stage IV Leiomyosarcoma in March 2021. She chose to not let her diagnosis define her, and she turned to community work. She volunteered her time organizing events for children as president of Friends of Ferris Triangle Park and lending time to help countless others in the Greenville area.
Natasha is survived by her children, Tyler and Helena, her partner, Brett, her sisters, Nathaly and Valerie, her brother, Christian, and her parents, Carlos and Josie.
A celebration of Natasha’s life will take place Sunday, July 16 from 1 to 6 p.m. at Plant Space, 368 Pacific Ave., in Jersey City.
