Unless you’ve been living under a cultural rock, you know that this weekend muralists from all over descended on Jersey City for the The Jersey City Mural Festival, presented by Mana Public Arts and the Jersey City Mural Arts Program (JCMAP) in partnership with Mayor Steven Fulop, the Jersey City Municipal Council, and the Office of Cultural Affairs.

I managed to make it to the largest of the three locations, Hamilton Park, to see what the hubbub was all about. It did not disappoint. Beyond creating stunning art, the muralists managed to turn a gloomy, garbage-strewn underpass into a place of humor, observation and beauty.

Here are some of the images I gathered. They are by no means exhaustive. Please feel free to share any you have with me by sending them to editor@jcitytimes.com.
