A man is being treated for multiple gunshot wounds this afternoon following a shooting in Bergen-Lafayette.
According to radio reports, the man was shot in the vicinity of 40 Lexington Ave. at approximately 2:40 p.m.
A report from Jersey City Medical Center indicated that the man was hit by five bullets, three on his right side and two on his left side.
Doctors were not ruling out the possibility the the wounds were life-threatening.
The extent of crime generally, and shootings in particular, in Jersey City is difficult to assess. Without explanation, the Fulop administration stopped publishing monthly CompStat crime data in June of 2019.
