A Jersey City man was arrested today in connection with a November homicide in Bergen-Lafayette.

According to the Hudson County Prosecutor, Esther Suarez, Anthony King, 34, was arrested in Raleigh, North Carolina in the fatal shooting of Ishamell McCany.

McCany, 41 and also from Jersey City, was gunned down On Saturday, November 13, 2021 shortly after 4:00 a.m., in the area of Grant Avenue and Martin Luther King Drive.

The arrest was made by members of the United States Marshals Service Eastern District of North Carolina Regional Fugitive Task Force after King’s location became known.

King has been charged with Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose. He remains in North Carolina awaiting extradition to New Jersey. 

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit is actively investigating this case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
