Mamta Singh

Dear Editor,

I am writing to express my enthusiastic support for Mamta Singh as a candidate for Hudson County Commissioner District 4. As a longtime resident of Jersey City and a dedicated community leader, Mamta has consistently demonstrated her commitment to making our county a better place for all its residents.

Mamta’s journey as an immigrant to the United States has shaped her perspective and fueled her passion for community engagement. When she first arrived, she faced numerous challenges in settling down and connecting with her local community. Being a stay-at-home mom with a young child, she recognized that many others in similar situations faced similar barriers. In response, she took action and founded JCFamilies Inc, a remarkable 501c(3) nonprofit organization that aims to enhance the parenting experience for Jersey City residents. Through JCFamilies, Mamta has united over 40,000 families, providing them with invaluable opportunities to network, celebrate, and fully embrace everything Jersey City has to offer.

However, Mamta’s dedication to her community extends far beyond her work with JCFamilies. As her son grew older, she recognized additional areas for improvement within our community. From enhancing climate change resiliency and improving public transportation to ensuring Jersey City remains an affordable city to raise a family, Mamta has a comprehensive vision for our county’s future. It is her unwavering commitment to managing our county’s $600 million budget fairly and transparently that truly sets her apart. She understands that the community has given her the opportunity to live the American Dream, and she is determined to give back by effectively utilizing these resources for the benefit of all residents.

As a longtime resident of Jersey City and a dedicated community leader, Mamta has consistently demonstrated her commitment to making our county a better place for all its residents.

Furthermore, Mamta’s extensive involvement in the Hamilton Park community, her volunteer work for Sustainable Jersey City, and her service on the County Committee further exemplify her dedication to public service. Her remarkable contributions have not gone unnoticed, as she was honored by the Jersey City Police Department for her impactful work and received the prestigious 2016 Women in Action Award from the City of Jersey City.

Mamta Singh’s plan for Hudson County is both ambitious and realistic. Her commitment to lower property taxes will alleviate the burden on residents, ensuring that hard-earned money remains in their pockets. Moreover, her emphasis on better climate resiliency, such as creating more green spaces for families, showcases her dedication to creating a sustainable and healthy environment for future generations. Additionally, her focus on more affordable housing will enable families to continue living in the neighborhoods they love, fostering a stronger sense of community. Lastly, her determination to improve public transit, including better bus routes and more walkable streets, will enhance mobility and connectivity throughout the county, ultimately benefiting us all.

In conclusion, Mamta Singh’s extensive experience, her proven track record as a community leader, and her genuine dedication to improving the lives of Hudson County residents make her an exemplary candidate for County Commissioner. Her vision for a prosperous, sustainable, and inclusive county resonates deeply with me, and I believe she possesses the skills and determination to transform her vision into a reality.

I urge my fellow residents to support Mamta Singh in her campaign for Hudson County Commissioner District 4. Together, we can create a brighter future for our county, where every resident has the opportunity to thrive.

Sincerely,

Vinutha Nanjundappa
