A Jersey City woman has been arrested in connection with missing funds at the Jersey City Housing Authority.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, yesterday members of the office’s Special Investigations Unit arrested Tyest Bryant, 53, following an investigation into the missing funds.
The investigation allegedly found that Bryant, in her capacity as a resident board member for the Booker T. Washington Housing Complex, misused over $20,000 of funds for personal benefit between 2017 and 2022.
Bryant was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus and charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition. She was released on a summons pending her first court appearance, which is tentatively scheduled for August 15.
