A Jersey City man has been sentenced in connection with the 2019 shooting death of a Bayonne woman.

According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, Anthony Shuler, 31, of Jersey City was sentenced to 25 years in New Jersey State Prison for the 2019 shooting death of Diamond Robinson, 26, in Bayonne.

Robinson was gunned down on September 22, 2019, at approximately 5:00 a.m. in what was reportedly a case of domestic violence.

When members of the Bayonne Police Department responded to 484 John F. Kennedy Boulevard where the incident took place, they found Robinson with an apparent gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Shuler pleaded guilty to one count of Aggravated Manslaughter on August 25, 2022.

Shuler was sentenced yesterday by Judge Mitzy Galis-Menendez. The prison sentence is subject to the No Early Release Act.

“It is our hope that this sentence provides some comfort to the victim’s loved ones,” said Assistant Prosecutor Kevin Roe.
