A 24-year-old Jersey City man has been charged in the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl from Montclair.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, the man, Stefan Fowler, met the victim on social media and assaulted her at his residence on Arlington Avenue.
Fowler was arrested without incident after surrendering himself at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City.
He has been charged with one count of Sexual Assault, one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and one count of Criminal Sexual Contact.
After his arrest, Fowler was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny pending his first appearance.
Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit with the investigation and arrest.
