Historic Harsimus and Jersey City Cemetery Offers Free Cremation Niches

The Historic Harsimus and Jersey City which no longer has grave sites for sale has announced that if any local family has had a death during this pandemic and needs a grave, they are offering cremation niches for free.  The only cost is a “ground opening fee” of $800 which includes the state burial permit fee of $75.

The cemetery would like to reciprocate for the support they have received from the community the past 10 years during these awful times.

The Historic Harsimus and Jersey City Cemetery has secured of lovely area of the cemetery with 30 to 40 cremation niches.  The niches which are about 12″ x 16″ and can hold a large sized urn.  A small headstone can be placed on the niche and the cemetery will place a special memorial in this area to commemorate that these are victims of the Covid-19 virus pandemic.

One can call or have one’s funeral director call the cemetery at 973-204-9888 or 201-707-0738 between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
