The four year-old daughter of the driver charged in Saturday’s hit and run on Duncan Avenue was sitting unrestrained in the back seat of the driver’s car at the time of his arrest.
Meanwhile, the 15 year-old girl struck and seriously injured in the accident remains hospitalized at Jersey City Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The alleged driver, Boris Marroquib Solarzano, 30, was arrested shortly afterwards as he drove his 2009 Honda Accord on Condict Street. His daughter was found unrestrained in the rear seat.
Yesterday, the HCPO upgraded the charges against Marroquib Solarzano to include one count of Knowingly Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury; one count of Causing Serious Bodily Injury While in Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Being Unlicensed; and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Following his arrest, Marroquin Solorzano was transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first appearance.
The collision is being actively investigated by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department.
