Four People Critical After Two Shootings on Southside

In a rapidly developing story, four people are in critical condition tonight following two shootings on the Southside.

According to radio reports, shootings took place at Virginia Avenue and Bernius Court in Bergen-Lafayette and at Van Nostrand Avenue and Martin Luther King Drive in Greenville.

It is believed the shootings took place at or around 10 p.m.

One person was reportedly shot in the head. Two were reportedly shot in the chest and another was shot in the abdomen.

The four victims were taken to Jersey City Medical Center.

One victim was reported to be in critical but stable condition. A second victim in critical condition was going into the operating room. The status of two other critically injured victims was not disclosed.

Two automobiles, a white Kia with Florida license plates and a gray Honda with Connecticut license plates, were thought to be involved.
