He was taken to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death a homicide.

Parra was the father of three young children. Following his death, a GoFundMe page raised $26,200 for his family. Parra’s brother Eric Maldonado wrote “The pain of losing a loved one is something I think everyone can relate to but the loss of my brother is devastating to me and my family.”

In April, Dumit was found guilty of Murder; Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purposes and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
