The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Hudson County running from 4 pm today through early tomorrow morning.
“A period of heavy showers and embedded thunderstorms is expected with the approach of a cold front this afternoon into Friday morning. A widespread 1 to 2 inches of rain are likely with locally higher amounts possible. The rainfall combined with wet antecedent conditions in a short period of time will lead to increased potential for flash flooding. Scattered flash flooding of urban and poor drainage areas is possible. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.”
