Four people were being treated for gunshot wounds today at Jersey City Medical Center following a mass shooting in Bergen-Lafayette.

The shooting reportedly took place in the vicinity of Virginia Avenue and Martin Luther King Drive at approximately 4 p.m. this afternoon.

One victim was driven to the Medical Center with a graze wound to the head and is reported to be in stable condition. The vehicle in which he arrived had a bullet hole in one door.

A woman was shot in the left foot and grazed in the thigh. She is reportedly in stable condition.

One person suffered an injury to the arm from bullet fragments and is stable.

A male who was shot in the chest was reported to be in critical condition and undergoing scans.

Police were focusing on two additional locations related to the shooting: 117 Oak Street and 77 Crescent Street, where a vehicle containing multiple shell casings was found. A person wearing black coat and a black hood was seen fleeing from the car.

The description matched that of an individual who reportedly stole a handgun earlier in the afternoon.
