A man was shot in the Heights tonight.
According to police reports, the shooting took place in vicinity of 1140 Summit Avenue.
The man, who was shot and the back, “was bleeding pretty good” according to an officer on the scene.
Shell casings were discovered in front of 1146 and 1147 Summit Avenue.
An officer reported that witnesses saw “bits and pieces” of the incident.
A witness reported seeing a gray vehicle fleeing northbound on Summit Avenue.
The victim was taken to Jersey City Medical Center, and is currently in surgery with life-threatening injuries.
