Man Shot in Neck in Bergen-Lafayette

A man was shot in the neck tonight in Bergen-Lafayette.

According to radio reports, the man was shot in the vicinity of Ocean and Claremont Avenues at approximately 10:20 pm. He was taken to Jersey City Medical Center where he was reported to be in stable condition.

The police department’s “cease fire” unit is on the scene and has recovered shell casings. A Ford Explorer from Elizabeth bearing fictitious license plates was hit by at least one bullet and is to be impounded.
