Authorities have arrested a Brooklyn man in a case of sexual assault.

According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested Raul Pena, 31, yesterday, for committing a sex crime on a woman in Jersey City.

The alleged crime occurred on August 20 at a residence in Jersey City. The 29-year-old victim met the defendant through an acquaintance in the hours leading up to the assault. 

Pena is charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault. He was arrested at his residence with the assistance of the NYPD Special Victims Unit and is being detained at Brooklyn Central Booking pending extradition to New Jersey.
