A body found today by Jersey City police has been identified as that of a 32-year-old Lindenwold woman.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, the lifeless body of Norelis Mendoza, 32, of Lindenwold, was found today in Bayonne, close to the border of Jersey City and near Route 440. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mendoza, a mother of two, was reportedly last seen on Saturday dropping her daughter off at her mother’s house at Montgomery Street and Monmouth Street in Jersey City. She was reported missing on Sunday.

The death is considered suspicious at this time and the Cause and Manner of Death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit, the Jersey City Police Department, the Bayonne Police Department, and New Jersey State Police have all been involved in the investigation.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this case.
