Photos taken during and after Sandy show a city knocked back on its heels.
Ryan Jacobsen
Ryan Jacobsen who has lived in and out of Jersey city for the past 15 years was living in his Coles street apartment at the time. He was trying to waterproof his back door the day before Sandy arrived. Luckily when Sandy hit the water did not penetrate his 3rd floor apartment, it did however manage to break a pipe in his basement and all the residents of the 4 story building pitched in to bail out the basement.
