A 57-year-old Jersey City man has been sentenced in a fatal Heights stabbing.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, Steven Bardsley was sentenced to 18 years in New Jersey State Prison for the 2021 stabbing death of Steven Bochman, 54, of Jersey City.
Bardsley pleaded guilty to one count of Aggravated Manslaughter on March 29, 2023. The sentence is subject to the No Early Release Act.
According to the HCPO, members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to the area of 151 Cambridge Avenue just after 10:00 p.m on July 24, 2021. There they found Bochman with a stab wound to his neck. Bochman was taken to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Bardsley, was apprehended a short time later by Jersey City police officers on Central Avenue.
