Those thinking of driving Downtown on Sunday morning might want to think again.

At 9 am, Mayor Fulop will join more than 5,000 runners in a “fast and flat” morning 5K through Downtown. The sold-out event is being sponsored by New York Road Runners.
The 3.1-mile course starts and finishes in Newport, taking runners past the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza, Exchange Place, and “a charming green oasis on the Hudson River filled with art installations.” Free Rising New York Road Runners races will also take place for kids ages 2 to 11, with a “fun festival” to follow.
